We Should Write Sometime, LLC, including the We Should Write Sometime app, website, and related services, is built for songwriters, artists, creators, and collaborators. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you use our website, mobile application, products, features, tools, and services, which we refer to together as the “Platform.”
We refer to We Should Write Sometime, LLC as “WSWS,” “We Should Write Sometime,” “we,” “us,” or “our.” We refer to people who use the Platform as “users,” “you,” or “your.”
This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect through the Platform, including information collected through our website, mobile application, forms, emails, messages, customer support, verification processes, events, surveys, and other interactions with us. It does not apply to information collected by third party websites, apps, platforms, or services that we do not control.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the Platform, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you should not use the Platform.
Our Songwriter First Commitment
We Should Write Sometime was built to put songwriters first.
This Privacy Policy does not give WSWS ownership of your songs, lyrics, recordings, demos, melodies, ideas, voice memos, or other creative work simply because you use the Platform. Your creative work remains yours, subject to our Terms of Use and any agreements you make with co-writers, collaborators, publishers, labels, service providers, or other third parties.
We do not sell your private creative work.
As of the Last updated date of this Privacy Policy, WSWS does not use third party AI vendors to process private songs, lyrics, recordings, demos, voice memos, private messages, split information, or unpublished creative materials. We will not knowingly use those materials to train artificial intelligence models unless we clearly disclose that use and obtain any consent required by law.
We may use aggregated or de-identified information to improve the Platform, understand collaboration trends, build better songwriter tools, support business analytics, develop industry insights, and operate our business, but we do not use that information to disclose your private creative work or identify you personally unless you have given us permission or the information is already public through your own actions.

We collect information from and about users in several ways, including information you provide directly, information collected automatically, information generated through your use of the Platform, and information we receive from third parties.
Account and Contact Information
We may collect information you provide when you create an account, update your profile, contact us, sign up for communications, request support, participate in events, complete forms, or otherwise interact with us.

Some profile information may be visible to other users depending on how the Platform works and your account settings.
Creative Content and Songwriter Data

• Files

We call this “Creative Content” in this Privacy Policy.
We use Creative Content only to provide, improve, protect, and operate the Platform, including helping users collaborate, communicate, organize co-writes, manage song information, maintain accurate records, support product features, provide customer support, troubleshoot issues, enforce our policies, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell private Creative Content. This Privacy Policy does not give WSWS ownership of private Creative Content.
As of the Last updated date of this Privacy Policy, WSWS does not use third party AI vendors to process private Creative Content. We will not knowingly use private Creative Content to train artificial intelligence models unless we clearly disclose that use and obtain any consent required by law.
Match, Swipe, Message, and Collaboration Information
The Platform may allow users to view profiles, swipe, save profiles, match, message, schedule co-writes, collaborate, and manage songs or sessions.
We may collect information related to those activities, including:
• Profiles you view
• Swipes, likes, saves, matches, passes, votes, or similar actions
• Messages and chat content
• Pending co-writes
• Connections
• Collaboration history
• Calendar events or scheduling information
• Song records or split records created with other users
• Reports, blocks, complaints, and safety related interactions
Messages and collaboration records may be visible to the users involved in those conversations or collaborations. We may access, review, preserve, or disclose messages and collaboration records when needed to provide the Platform, support users, investigate abuse, enforce our terms, comply with law, resolve disputes, or protect the rights, safety, and security of users, WSWS, or others.
Verification Information
If you apply for Pro Tier access, identity verification, professional verification, or another verified status, we may collect verification information. WSWS currently stores government ID verification materials in restricted access secure cloud storage.
This may include:
• Government issued ID, such as a driver’s license, passport, or similar document
• Images or scans of identification documents
• Selfie or likeness information used for identity confirmation
• Professional credentials
• Songwriting credits
• Social, streaming, publisher, label, PRO, or industry links
• Other information submitted to verify identity, eligibility, or professional status
We use verification information for purposes such as reviewing eligibility, confirming identity or professional status, preventing fraud, maintaining trust and safety, protecting the Platform, and complying with legal obligations.
We do not publicly display government ID documents. We do not sell verification documents. WSWS currently stores government ID verification materials in restricted access secure cloud storage. Routine access to government ID verification documents is limited to Kevin McCarty, with additional access only if needed for legal, security, compliance, support, or other legitimate business purposes.
We retain verification information for as long as reasonably necessary for verification, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, safety, and legitimate business purposes, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
Users may request deletion of verification documents by contacting us at
contact@weshouldwritesometime.com, and we will delete or de-identify those documents where reasonably feasible and legally required, subject to any information we need to retain for legal, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, safety, compliance, backup, or legitimate business purposes.
Payment and Transaction Information
If we offer paid features, subscriptions, merchandise, events, services, marketplace features, or other transactions, we may collect information related to those transactions.

If the Platform requests access to precise device location, we will request permission through your device or operating system where required. You can usually disable location access through your device settings. If you disable location access, some features may not work properly.
We may use aggregated or de-identified location information to understand where users are located, improve the Platform, develop market insights, support business analytics, and identify collaboration trends. Aggregated or de-identified location information does not identify you personally.

Aggregated or de-identified information does not identify you personally and does not disclose your private Creative Content.

As of the Last updated date of this Privacy Policy, WSWS does not use third party AI vendors to process private songs, lyrics, recordings, demos, voice memos, private messages, split information, or unpublished Creative Content.
We will not knowingly use those materials to train artificial intelligence models unless we clearly disclose that use and obtain any consent required by law.
If we later use third party AI providers to process private Creative Content, we will take reasonable steps designed to ensure they do not use that private Creative Content to train their own models unless you have clearly opted in, given us permission, or the use is otherwise disclosed to you and permitted by law.
If we offer optional AI-assisted features that use Creative Content, we will provide information about how the feature works and what information is used before you choose to use that feature, where required by law.
We may use aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized data to understand how the Platform is used, improve matching, improve safety, improve performance, develop new features, support business analytics, and build industry insights. Aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized data does not identify you personally and does not disclose your private Creative Content.
AI-assisted features are tools only. You are responsible for reviewing, approving, protecting, and managing your own creative work and rights.
How We Share Information
We may share information as described below.
With Other Users
Certain information is shared with other users as part of the Platform.
This may include:
• Profile information you choose to provide
• Photos, videos, bio, genre, role, links, and other profile details
• General location or discovery location
• Swipe, match, save, or collaboration actions where needed to operate the feature
• Messages and content you send to other users
• Song, session, calendar, split, or collaboration information you choose to create or share with collaborators
You are responsible for the information you choose to share with other users. We cannot control what other users do with information after you share it with them.
With Service Providers
We may share information with vendors, contractors, processors, and service providers who help us operate the Platform and our business.
These may include providers of:
• Cloud hosting and storage
• App development and infrastructure
• Analytics
• Crash reporting
• Security and fraud prevention
• Customer support

We do not intentionally share private Creative Content, private messages, government ID documents, or non-public personal information with these parties for their independent use unless you direct us to do so, give us permission, the sharing is necessary to provide a feature or service you requested, or the sharing is otherwise permitted by law.
For Legal, Safety, and Compliance Reasons
We may disclose information if we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to:

Public Profiles, User Sharing, and User Contributions
Certain parts of the Platform are designed to help songwriters discover, connect, and collaborate with each other. That means some information you provide may be visible to other users or shared with users you interact with.
Public or user-visible information may include your profile photo, name, bio, location or general location, genres, instruments, roles, links, and other profile information you choose to provide.
Private messages, private Creative Content, verification documents, and non-public account information are not visible to all users. They may be visible to users you message, match with, collaborate with, or choose to share information with.
If you post, send, upload, or share information through the Platform, you understand that other users may save, copy, screenshot, download, or share that information outside the Platform. We cannot control the actions of other users.
Cookies, SDKs, Analytics, and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies, pixels, software development kits, local storage, mobile device identifiers, analytics tools, and similar technologies to operate the Platform, remember preferences, authenticate users, analyze usage, improve features, measure performance, prevent fraud, support marketing, and understand how the Platform is used.
These technologies may collect information such as device identifiers, IP address, browser type, operating system, app activity, pages or screens viewed, links clicked, and similar usage information.
We may allow service providers to use these technologies on our behalf. We do not control third party websites, platforms, or services that may be linked from the Platform.
You may be able to control cookies through your browser settings and mobile advertising identifiers through your device settings. Some features may not work properly if you disable certain technologies.
Advertising and Marketing
We may use your contact information to send service messages, product updates, Platform announcements, and marketing communications about WSWS. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time.
We may use analytics and advertising tools to understand Platform performance, measure campaigns, and promote WSWS.
We do not use private Creative Content, private messages, government ID documents, or unpublished songwriter materials for targeted advertising.

Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Platform, maintain your account, operate our business, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, protect users, maintain security, and support legitimate business purposes.
The amount of time we retain information may depend on the type of information, the purpose for which it was collected, legal requirements, user expectations, safety concerns, fraud prevention needs, accounting rules, dispute resolution, and Platform functionality.
If you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with your account where reasonably feasible and legally required, unless we need to retain certain information for legal, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, accounting, safety, compliance, backup, or legitimate business purposes.
Some information may remain visible to other users if you shared it with them before deletion, such as messages, collaborations, song records, split records, comments, or other information involving another user.
If a song, split, message, calendar item, or collaboration record involves multiple users, we may retain certain records to preserve collaboration history, ownership records, platform integrity, dispute resolution, legal compliance, and safety.
Backup copies may remain for a limited period before they are deleted or overwritten in the ordinary course of business.

Please include the email address or phone number associated with your WSWS account so we can locate the account and verify the request.
You may also request deletion through any web deletion request page we make available.
When you request account deletion, we may need to verify your identity before processing the request. We will process deletion requests within a reasonable time and as required by applicable law, subject to identity verification and any information we need to retain for legitimate purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Deleting the app from your device does not automatically delete your account or all associated information.

Please include as much detail as possible so we can review and respond appropriately, including usernames, profile information, screenshots, dates, links, or a description of the concern, if available.
WSWS may also make in-app support, feedback, or reporting tools available to users. If those tools are available, users may use them to submit child safety concerns, user safety concerns, or other reports without leaving the app.
Prohibited Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Content and Conduct
We strictly prohibit users from creating, uploading, sharing, requesting, promoting, distributing, or facilitating any content or behavior involving child sexual abuse or exploitation.
This includes, but is not limited to:
• Child sexual abuse material, including images, videos, computer generated imagery, or AI generated content involving minors
• Grooming or attempts to build a relationship with a child for sexual exploitation
• Sexual conversations, requests, or interactions involving minors

If we become aware of content or behavior involving child sexual abuse or exploitation, we may take action, including reviewing the report, removing content, restricting access, suspending or banning accounts, preserving relevant information where legally appropriate, and reporting suspected or confirmed child sexual abuse material or exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, law enforcement, or the appropriate regional, national, or international authority where required by law or where we believe reporting is appropriate to protect children or users.
We comply with applicable child safety laws and maintain reasonable processes to review child safety reports and escalate suspected or confirmed child sexual abuse material or exploitation to appropriate authorities where required by law or where we believe reporting is appropriate to protect children or users.
